About the Artist

Dinah is a unique potter in the way she handles design. To her, glaze is just a medium and the bisqueware a canvas. There is a painterly quality to her work which showcases a lot of brushwork and colorful glazing. While she would describe her work as amateur play, those who view her pieces up close can attest to the many years of folk art painting, calligraphy, and crafting that display a steady hand and a thoughtful symmetry. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Dinah is a true celtic granny to her 18 grandchildren. She just wants to share her work with enthusiasts and other artists and be nourished by their ideas.

Bisqueware (clay pieces that have been gently fired once) allow an artist to play with new designs and glazes. Sometimes these pieces don't survive a final firing but they are displayed below for fun:
